Book Sneeze Book Review-Why the Word of Promise Lives Up To it’s Name

*I’ve recently joined Book Sneeze by Thomas Nelson Publishing, I’m overly excited to be a part of it, so you’ll have to excuse me at points when I may seem a little “over the edge” But honestly, would you expect anything less?*

I review for BookSneeze

My first Review for Book Sneeze come in the mail last Tuesday. Tuesday, remember Tuesday? I had picked it up from the post office only a few moments before our lives were changed forever.–it’s one of the many ways I have seen the hand of Yeshua in this situation.

(Disclaimer: If you’re just joining me for this review, to sum it up, my dear step-sister went to be with the Lord last Tuesday. There’s no need to go into deep detail here but if you would like to have more insight here is the link)

Turns out this review would be one of the most needed things in my life this last week–Curious of what I reviewed?  I’m so glad you asked. I first got to do a book review of the Word of Promise New Testament.  It’s an audio dramatization of the bible featuring actors like Jim Caviezel, Richard Dreyfuss, and even Christian Music’s own Michael W. Smith–okay not as exciting, but Jim Caviezel plays Jesus again and that is neat.

Originally I had wanted to complete a book review of the Word of Promise because of our tendency to spend more time on the road then at home. My idea was that we would be able to put the cd’s in, and not only give myself something to do on the road but also occupy my two littles who really love to poke and pick each other every ride we take.–and by poke and pick I mean constantly. and by constantly I mean before we get into the car.

And for the record, that’s exactly what the Word of Promise was. I love it when we can have something just playing in the car and as we ride up the littles are playing with ponies in the back having a grand old time–yes, most of this right here is fiction what I should really say is “I can at least tolerate it when we have something playing in the car and as we ride up the littles are poking and picking at each other, having a grand old time.”

Whatever the case, when we played the cd’s riding up, it made my heart happy to hear my littlest little speaking up every now and again to quote what was being portrayed by the dramatization of the bible. –in one case she was singing in her happiest little voice “abomination! abomination!” isn’t that so cute? Right?! RIGHT?!

So yes, the Word of Promise gets a thumbs up for car rides.

But the second thumbs comes in our last week. It’s been a really hard week. Dealing with the death of someone you love is a difficult thing. Let alone when it is a suicide.–yes I said suicide. To be honest it has been hard to do anything all week. And yet, there’s so much to get done.  The Word of Promise has been a breath of fresh air. It has been comforting to have the Word of God playing in the background as each day we have had so much to do, so much pain, and such little time to get it all done. And again, it blessed my heart beyond all measures to hear my littles quoting little parts of the presentation as they were painting, or playing, or coloring, or going through out their day. Especially in the sorrow our family has experienced, I can not reiterate enough the comfort it brings me to hear my littles listening and quoting the truth.

Makes sense to call it Word of Promise, doesn’t it?
