Guest Post from DaddyInTheScene

medic-medic-_1In our recent magazine–that’s HeBrews Magazine. Issue 1. 2009.–you heard it here first, folks. you heard it here first.  DaddyInTheScene dusted off his English Writing Degree, and wrote some great articles about what we have going on up in these parts.   So me, because I’m incredibly lazy, bring you one of those writings.  In the form of a guest post.

This is an article about the Tribe of Judah. What is the Tribe of Judah?  Oh baby, you are about to find out.

The Tribe of Judah; it’s like a Mini Tour Every Week!

Wake up 6:00am Thursday and pray and seek the Lord.  Go to group prayer @ 8:00am.  Talk/pray for one hour.  Pack it up, pack it in:  guitars, sound boards, speakers, cases, totes, sleeping bags, pillows (unless we forget), clothes, drums, Mt. Dew, Bibles, food, two little kids, various numbers of scraggly “adults” and musicians (who have to be separately categorized).  How many vehicles?  Well, how many work; is usually the question.  Fill up gas on a prayer, finally loaded, hoping and praying again that no major blow-ups occur either mechanically or mentally.  Around 12:00-1:00, we’re off!  Marquette, Michigan is 90 miles and 1 hour & 45 minutes away.  Trip usually goes pretty well.
We arrive, unpack, meet and greet our young brothers and sisters, pray some more, and in a couple hours we give thanks and eat.  Next we break out the worship; worship in song, prayer, and focus.  After that usually goes amazingly (Yahweh be praised!), we then jump into the Gospel of John and dissect it verse by verse, question by question, answer by answer…found only in God’s Word.  Bible Study over.  Fellowship.  Try to sleep on couches which is often difficult.  Wake up between 8:00am-11:00am Central Standard time (different from our Iron River time).  Clean toilets, run errands, mop floors, play foosball, check medic-medic-_5sound system, start making espresso, and cover bases.  Three to six bands start showing up at our sister venue, The Cornerzone in Marquette, MI from 3:30pm-6:00pm.  Unload gear, get to know bands, assess where they are at spiritually, sound check.  Show starts with prayer, sometimes we play music too, bands play, talking to kids, have fun, eat, etc.
Minister.  Serve.  Love.  Give the Gospel.  Quote Scripture when necessary.  Thank You Lord, You allow us to do this.  Go to bed tired, but usually peaceful after we make a seemingly longer drive back home to Iron River.  Arrival: 12:30-1:30am.
Wake up at home base, prayer and read some more.  Rinse (hopefully, but not often) and repeat Friday on Saturday at He-Brews most likely with the same bands who played Cornerzone the night before.  Thank God for this place.  Thank Him for what we get to do, for family and the brotherhood.  Continue week after week on rigorous schedule, seeking better results every week.  Why??!!  We want REVIVAL!!!
